Netbell SIP Speaker User Manual: WM-042S; CM-600S; H30-709S

5 min read

Overview

The VoIP SIP/Multicast Speaker is a cost-effective indoor paging solution that supports Power over Ethernet (PoE 802.3af) and Voice over IP (VoIP). It is designed for use in offices, schools, and medium-sized warehouses with ceiling heights over 20 feet, where horn speakers are not required and hallway areas do not need forward-focused coverage. The speaker integrates seamlessly with VoIP phone systems to deliver live paging, emergency notifications, and other mass communication messages, supporting multicast and broadcast audio from a single endpoint to multiple speakers simultaneously.

Preparation for Installation

To achieve the best audio quality for your speakers, we recommend building a dedicated VLAN for this system with network equipment compatible with multicast protocol. Netbell SIP speakers support PoE/PoE+, and a properly configured network infrastructure will ensure a smooth installation.

Important Requirements

  • The speakers and the PC running the SIPConfigTool desktop app must be on the same LAN
  • Network and Switch Requirements:
    • Power over Ethernet (PoE/PoE+) Switch Ports
    • Minimum CAT5 cable with maximum of 100 meters from the device to switch
    • Network switch capacity to handle power loads for all devices
    • Make sure the following ports are open on your router or firewall:
      • UDP/TCP 5060 for SIP signaling
    • Router: PIM is required if multicast traffic needs to pass through multiple routers
    • Switch: Should support IGMP snooping to prevent multicast flooding

Power Consumption Reference

  • Netbell-WM-042S Wall Mount Speaker 12VDC/24VDC/POE: 20W
  • Netbell-CM-600S Ceiling Speaker 12VDC/24VDC/POE: 30W
  • Netbell-H30-709S Horn Speaker 12VDC/24VDC/POE: 30W

Important Pre-Installation Planning

We strongly recommend completing all device configuration before physical installation in your facility. This systematic approach will significantly reduce installation time, minimize errors, and simplify troubleshooting. Please follow these pre-installation best practices:

  • Create a Network Plan: Document your IP addressing scheme, ensuring all devices have compatible network settings (subnet mask, gateway, etc.)
  • Assign Static IP Addresses: Configure and document static IP addresses for all devices to prevent communication issues that can occur with changing DHCP addresses
  • Maintain Documentation: Create a detailed spreadsheet recording:
    • Device numbers and names
    • Assigned IP addresses
    • Physical installation locations
    • Special settings or configurations
  • Verify Configuration: Test all devices while they’re easily accessible to confirm proper operation before mounting in hard-to-reach locations
  • Follow the installation diagram provided with each speaker to mount the unit

Following these recommendations will create a more manageable deployment process, especially for multi-device installations across larger facilities.

Power the Speaker

Connect SIP speaker to your PoE network using a CAT5/5e/6 cable. Use 12/24VDC power adapter (not provided) if PoE is not available.  Both power sources cannot be used at the same time. Once powered, the green LED will blink, and the blue LED will remain solid, indicating the device is ready for discovery.

Download SIPConfig Tool

Download the SIP Config Tool (64-bit installer or ZIP package) from:
Support Programming – Linortek Resources

64-bit Installer (Recommended)

  1. Run the installer.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

ZIP Package

  1. Extract the ZIP file.
  2. Keep all extracted files together (do not move or delete individual files).
  3. Launch the application by double-clicking the .exe file.

If Windows displays “Windows protected your PC,” click More infoRun anyway.

Configure the Speaker

Search and Configure Device IP

Using SIPConfig Tool:

  • Click Search Devices. When the speaker appears in the list, check if its IP address matches your network. (By default: 192.168.1.xxx)
  • If not, select the device (will highlight with blue) and enter the correct IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway under Basic Equipment Parameters (on the top)
  • Click Save, wait about 10 seconds, then click Search Devices again.
  • Double-click the speaker on the list. The default web browser will populate the login screen.

Web Configuration

When prompted to the login screen enter the default credentials to access the web interface:

  • Username: admin
  • Password: 123456

Note: If the page doesn’t load please check your IP configuration again.

Check Network Settings

Once logged in, verify that Primary and Secondary DNS addresses match your network.
If changes are needed, go to the Network page, adjust settings, and save.
Then continue to the SIP Settings page.

Enter SIP Account Information

Navigate to the SIP Settings page to fill in the information provided by your VoIP system admin:

  • User Account – paging account username
  • Password – account password
  • Display name – shown on your network
  • Server’s address – SIP domain or registrar
  • Server port – usually 5060
  • Outbound proxy address and port – if required
  • Authentication User – Authorization ID (if required)
  • Save
  • Click Logout and log back in to apply the settings.

Note: The screenshot below is only for the example.

Important: After logging back in, the System Overview should show Server Status: Connected and display your SIP sever address. If it does not, verify your SIP credentials and DNS settings.

Configure Session Audio Settings

Navigate to Work Settings → Intercom.

  • Input Channel: Leave at MIC
  • Input Gain (Volume): set gain for intercom
