1. Introduction
This document provides instructions for using external triggers to activate emergency sounds on the
Netbell-NTG system. It is intended for system administrators and technicians responsible for setting up and
configuring Netbell-NTG devices in various facilities
2. Overview of Triggering Methods
The Netbell-NTG supports several methods to trigger custom sound, including:
- RESTful API from 3rd party systems
- Bell schedules
- Local push buttons
- Door contact switches
- Sensors connected to digital inputs
- Data collected or command from other Linortek devices
This guide focuses on setting up local and remote push buttons. For RESTful API instructions, please refer
to: https://bit.ly/4ennHM9
3. Setting Up Local Push Buttons

3.1 Set Netbell-NTG Digital Input to PU Position
To use a push button with the Netbell-NTG, you need to set the digital input switch to the Pull Up (PU)
position.
- Open the lid of the Netbell-NTG controller.
- Locate the digital input switches (order is 4, 3, 2, 1 from left to right).
- Push the switch for the input you’re using to the PU position.

- Micro SD card slot
- Audio Module
- Digital input switches
- RJ45 Connector
- Reset Button
- Reload Button (turns on blue LED – identified on Discoverer
3.2 Configuring a Local Push Button to Activate a Sound
Step 1: Assign audio tone to relay
- Navigate to the Tasks page of the Netbell-NTG
- Click the Edit icon of the schedule you want to use
- Enter a name (if desired) in the Schedule Name field
- Check the Use box
- Set Device A to RELAY
- Set Data A to 03+ (Assign this tone to Relay 3)
- Set Device C to SEND UART
- Set Data C to PEVACUATEOGG (8-character name preceded by P and followed by OGG, must be
capitalized). EVACUATE is a default 5 sec sound. - Set Action to ON
- Click Save

Repeat these steps for each push button, assigning each to a different relay (04+; 05+; etc.)
Step 2: Configure the digital input
- Go to Services > Inputs
- Click the edit icon for the digital input you’re using (e.g., DIN 1)
- Configure the settings:
– Name: Set a 15-character name (optional)
– USE: Check to activate
– Type: Select State
– Display: Choose display type Dot
– Relay L/T: Enter 3L (links this input to Relay 3)
– Command L/Z/N/I: Enter N for Normal Input - Click Save

4. Setting Up Remote Push Buttons

4.1 Set Ethernet I/O Controller Digital Input to PU Position
If using an Ethernet I/O controller (e.g., Koda 100) for remote activation (if you use the network 4-button
switch set, the input switches are already set to PU, no need to do this step):
- Open the controller enclosure
- Locate the switches marked as IN1 IN2
- Move the switch to the DOWN position for PU mode

4.2 Configuring a Remote Push Button (Master-Slave Method
In this setup, the Netbell-NTG acts as the SLAVE, and the Ethernet I/O controller/4-button switch set works
as the MASTER.
Step 1: Set Static IP addresses
Each device uses SERVER as the default name. When you have multiple devices on the same network, you
can change the device name for easy management. To change the name, go to Configure – Network Config
page. It’s the same page for network configuration below.
To use the MASTER-SLAVE feature, we encourage you NOT to use DHCP on your controllers. Use a static IP
if your network allows. So that in the event of power outage, you will not need to reconfigure IP addresses.
To use static IP and change the name for your device, go to Configure – Network Config page. This page
allows the configuration of the SERVER’s network settings. CAUTION: Incorrect settings may cause the
board to lose network connectivity. If the devices are on different networks, you must PORT the device in
order to access a device remotely. This tells your router that information coming in should be sent to a
specific device on your network.
For both MASTER and SLAVE devices:
- MAC Address – This is a unique MAC address that is assigned to this product at time of
- assembly. It cannot be altered.
- Host Name – This is a Netbell name at which this unit may be addressed in some networks. It
may also appear in your router’s lease directory. It makes a useful place to name your SERVER
and appears on the Home page and on the Discoverer. - Port Number – This becomes part of the IP address and is necessary for Internet access. If this is
not set, the SERVER defaults to a port number of 80. - Enable DHCP: DHCP is enabled by default. When the device is first installed on the network, it
will automatically obtain and IP address if your router is setup for this way. To use a static IP
address, uncheck this box. - IP Address – Typically you only change the last group of numbers. If you change this IP address,
make sure to reserve this IP on your router and no other devices are using this IP address or you
may not be able to reach this SERVER. If this
happens you may need to Restore Defaults
using the push button method. - Gateway – Typically a router on your TCP/IP
network that serves as an access point to
your ISP. - Subnet Mask – A 32-bit number that masks
an IP address, and divides the IP address
into network address
and host address. Just leave it at
255.255.255.0 - Primary DNS – A primary DNS.
- Secondary DNS – A secondary DNS

Step 2: Link SLAVE to MASTER
On the MASTER device:
- Go to Configure > Remote Device Config
- Enter the SLAVE device information:
– Device Name
– IP Address
– Login User Name
– Password - Click Save Config

Step 3: Activate digital input on MASTER
- Go to Services > In/Out
- Click the edit icon for the input you’re using (e.g., Input 1)
- Configure settings:
– Name: Set a 15-character name (optional)
– USE: Check to activate
– Type: Select State
– Display: Choose display type
– Relay L/T: Enter 1T (triggers relay 1)
– Command L/Z/N/I: Enter N for Normal Input - Click Save

Step 4: Use MASTER relay to trigger SLAVE relay
- Go to Service > In/Out
- Select Relay 1 and click the Edit icon
- Configure settings:
– Name: Optional
– Pulse Width: Leave default
– Pulse Width Multiplier: Leave default
– Relay Type: Select Remote
– Location ID: Enter the SLAVE device’s ID
– Relay at Location: Enter the relay number assigned to the tone on the SLAVE (e.g., 3) - Click Save

Repeat these steps for additional remote push buttons as needed.
