Step 3 – Configuring Your Hour Meter

Finding the Network Hour Meter on your network, accessing it via Telnet and configuring the device

  • Finding your Hour Meter’s IP address

    Identifying using Hour Collector:

The easiest way to find your server’s IP address is by using the Linortek Hour Collector app. It will automatically display upon connecting to your network, or if already connected, press the RESET button and it will identify upon reboot.

Write down the IP address listed for the device

Note: It is recommended that the device running hour collector is on the same LAN/VLAN and subnet of the Hour Meter. Otherwise, it will not be listed.

    Identifying using your router:

You may also find your device’s IP address by signing on to your router and searching the list of connected devices. Your iTrixx hour meter will be identified on your router as WiFiHM_xxxxxx where the x’s are the last 6 characters of the device’s MAC address.

Write down the IP address listed for the device

  • Connecting to your Hour Meter via Telnet

To connect to the iTrixx server using your PC, follow these steps:

    1. Open Command Prompt
    2. Enter telnet nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn 30316 where n is your device’s IP address
    3. Once connected, it will prompt you for a password. By default, this password is the last 6 characters of its MAC address –without colons – which can be found printed on the enclosure. (ex: cd56ef)
    4. After entering your password, all available commands will be listed in the command prompt window.

Step 4 – Configuring your Hour Meter

    Deleting a Trigger:

To delete a trigger from use the command triggerdelete=N where N is a trigger’s unique identifying number.

Advanced Configuration

Configuring your Hour Meter to publish to a MQTT broker and analog inputs.

  • Publishing to a MQTT Broker

Your WFMN can publish data to an MQTT broker using the following topic:

    lt1000/xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx/tele

Where xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx is the MAC address of your WFMN.

The WFMN publishes a single payload in JSON format to the configured MQTT broker at a 1-minute interval using QoS 0.

    Subscribe to the MQTT Topic

Configure your MQTT broker or MQTT client to subscribe to the lt1000 topic to receive data published by the WFMN.

    Configure the WFMN

Next, configure your WFMN to publish data to your MQTT broker.

Set the MQTT broker address using the following command:

    mqtthost=brokeraddress

Replace brokeraddress with the IP address or domain name of your MQTT broker. The broker may be hosted on a device on your local network or on an external network.

Next, configure the MQTT broker port using:

    mqttport=xxxx

Replace xxxx with the port used by your MQTT broker. The default MQTT port is 1883. Refer to your MQTT broker’s documentation for the correct port number.

Once configured, the WFMN will publish its JSON payload to the MQTT broker every 1 minute.

  • Analog Inputs

The analog inputs allow the SERVER to read the value of external equipment. iTrixx WFMN-ADi has 2 analog inputs (5v 420mA) built in to the board. The 2 analog input wires are connected to nonisolated 05V current sensors which may be connected to a variety of devices such as temperature or pressure sensors.

The SERVER provides a ground and power connection so that measurements can be made without external voltage references. You should use a sensor that is isolated so that the it makes no connection to a remote ground. This information can be set to trigger a notification. There are 3 wires for each analog input, see the Board Reference Layout.

NOTE: These units are ground isolated. Always connect so that power loop is only connected to the iTrixx unit. Do NOT use external ground connections. Doing so may damage the SERVER or POE originating device.

FAQ’s

Yes. If your PLC sends a 5–48 VDC pulse lasting 36 seconds, the meter will increment by 0.01. It can count up to 999,999.99.

The most common cause of this issue is the computer and Linortek device being connected to different subnets. This can often occur when your computer is connected through Wi-Fi. Ensure your computer and the Linortek device are connected to the same subnet.

Also, verify that the Linortek device has successfully connected to your network. The device’s MAC address is printed on the unit. Use this MAC address to locate the device with a network scanning tool or through your router’s connected-device list.

If you are unable to locate the device on your network, refer to the “Connecting Your Device to Wi-Fi” section in Step 2 of this guide and follow the instructions to connect the device to your network.

It is recommended to power you Linortek devices with a surge protector, as power surges can temporally cause software hangups or even permanent hardware damage.

In the case with no surge protector, please perform a factory reset on your device.

NOTE: This will reset your network (DHCP enabled), time, and tasks configurations.  You will need to re-discover your device’s IP and set your configurations to their previous state once the device.

In a standard unit you can set the time interval for reporting. We do have customers that build their own program for this kind of custom report. We also have RESTful command available for custom developed application.
